Nishanth Krishnan
Nishanth Krishnan is a medical student at the University of California, San Francisco. He was raised in San Diego and received his B.S. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology with departmental honors from Yale in 2021. He graduated as the recipient of the Roosevelt L. Thompson Prize and John C. Schroeder Award for accomplishments in public service. As an undergraduate, he received his initial exposure to neurosurgery as a member of the Cushing Society.
Since arriving at UCSF, Nishanth has worked closely with faculty, fellows, and residents in the Department of Neurological Surgery on numerous research endeavors. He has developed a professional interest on studying acute neurologic pathologies, including hemorrhagic stroke, traumatic brain injury, and metastatic spinal cord compression. In 2024, Nishanth joined Dr. Savastano and the TNT Lab to pursue a year-long research fellowship and contribute to innovative projects in translational stroke research, neuroendovascular interventions, and device development
