Mona Asghariahmadabad, MD

Postdoctoral Scholar

Dr. Asghariahmadabad (Asghari) is originally from Iran, where she earned her medical degree from Guilan University of Medical Sciences (GUMS). Throughout her medical education and after graduation, she was actively involved in multiple research projects. Her passion lies in the neurovascular field, particularly in neurovascular innovation and technology development. In late October 2022, she joined Mayo Clinic Neurovascular to further pursue her interest in neurovascular research and enhance her skills in basic sciences and translational research. Her research at Mayo Clinic primarily focused on arteriovenous malformation (AVM).

Following her time at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Asghari Ahmadabad joined Dr. Savastano’s lab at the University of California, San Francisco, in July 2023 as a postdoctoral scholar. She continues her research in the neurovascular field, focusing on neurovascular devices and technologies. With her extensive experience in basic science and clinical research, she aims to contribute to the development of healthcare-centric technology.

Dr. Asghari Ahmadabad is dedicated to furthering her clinical and translational neurovascular research experience, with the ultimate goal of establishing a successful career in neurointervention.
