Atakan Orscelik, MD
Dr Orscelik is originally from Turkey, where he earned his medical degree from Ondokuz Mayis University in late June 2022. After successfully completing his medical education, he began to participate in several research projects at Mayo Clinic (Rochester) in early July 2022 due to his intense interest in cerebrovascular diseases. Here, as his passion for endovascular treatments of cerebrovascular diseases grew, he pursued further studies at the Medical University of South Carolina in July 2023, where the Stroke Thrombectomy and Aneurysm Registry was established to provide real-world insights into clinical practice by collecting clinical data from patients with cerebrovascular diseases in the USA and around the world.
With the desire to further advance the care provided to patients in the clinic by using his experiences in data collection, data analysis, clinical project management, and coordinating with team members, he joined to the University of California, San Francisco to focus on clinical trials and clinical outcome research in February 2024. He is committed to the successful and progressive application of translational studies conducted in the laboratory to patients in the clinic.
